Week 6: April 11

What was consistently effective in today's (April 11) presentations?

You said: preparation, confidence, personal story, effective picture and object, short (simple), using accent, stress, change the voice tone, and gesture

Every story you present from now on should have a key take away - the message you want people to remember. It is often a short and memorable summary phrase that listeners will remember and hopefully repeat when they talk about your awesome presentation to others!

"Tell a story, make a point." Bill Gove

Next week: April 18
- someone (I suggest the note taker...) in your group MUST email your formal draft (2nd script) to me before April 18. (gslewi@gmail.com).
- For more info refer to the post in this blog:

Now, please answer the following questions in the comment section below;

1/ What was the take away from your presentation today?

  2. 1. I was trying to use different photos from others that is not related to my experience and take a short rest in order to take away what i want to say to our class mates.

    2. I want to make an accent that looks like brave and then need to eye contact and will not make tension.

  3. 1.I intended to make something memorable. My presentation topic was "The Special Place". People can't live without places. Maybe we have one special place at least. So I want to make people reminding their special places.

2.In next presentaion, I plan to prepare not only visualization but also some sound stuffs. It makes my presentation more effective. Sound can help me to "take away".

  4. 1. I intended to get attention with interesting and famous drama (if i did well). It's famous and popular so that i thought it would be easy to stimulate them to focus on my ppt.
    2. I recognised the decision about subject must be careful and it is not good to choose one which is limited to only some people. must consider audience before.

  5. 1. I tried to motivate people to watch 'Blue, the warmest color' using some snapshots of movie. And I think that the snapshot could make curiosity.
    2. I realize that title of presentation is very important to understand topic. So I'll try to make suitable title. And I'll try to more practice to make clear sound.

  6. 1. In my case, I wanted to try to make the realistic situation during my speech by re-enacting the situation.

    2. the point above was my intention to grab audience's attention. but, i think that i needed more practice to perfome it well. in addition to that weakness, as a kidding i didn't imagine that my speech turn would come so fast!! xD

  7. 1. I was trying to let you know what kind of my job is, and ultimately share your one or else.

    2. Foucs. That's what i will prepare it.
Last time, I was too hurry to explain things in short time. That made presentation confusing.
So in this time, I will set main idea more powerful, and take enough time to talk about it.
    That will be better

  8. 1. My take out was importance of treating everyone equally with true mind.

    2. Whenever I prepared my presentation, I felt I had to prepare more effective opening and motivated subject. But I think my subjects were so short to touch the other students and teacher. So I planed to make more motivated presentation, I would drow mind map about the interesting or effective experiences in my life.
And I think the effective opening is so difficult to me. So I would see the TED TALKs after I finished my other midterm exams and learn frome that.
Of course, I will prepare more and more than last my presentations. Thank you.

  9. 1. Delivering a message at last.

    2. I will use the better way to deliver a message, if I do this again, and also I will choose an interesting topic for everyone. Of course I have to spice - up my script too, with using suitable words.

  10. 1. What I think my takeaway was the topic itself. Since not a lot people know much about comic book stuff or Stan Lee, I think it turned out to be unique and interesting subject to make a presentation.

    2. I will try to do a presentation more fluently, meaning I will focus on making sentence more natural. Also I will add more point in my presentation. My presentations so far have lacked messages that motivate audience to do something. Next time I will choose topic that can relate to other people as well and tell an audience a memorable message.

  11. my take away was importance of making little projects. projects that can fill people's empty life. I would like to make my presentation shorter and get rid of some useless expression to make it more simple and effective. -jiwoo

  12. My take away was liverpool fc, and ecstacy that everyone can achieve supporting a sports team. I think my presentation would be better with more body language, and various voice tones.
